Celebrating Two Years of Impact: The Faith Norah Lukosi Foundation Inaugural Gala
On July 26, 2024, the Faith Norah Lukosi Foundation marked its second anniversary with an inaugural gala at The Curve by the Park, Southern Bypass, Nairobi. The event, held from 5 to 11 PM, celebrated the foundation’s remarkable journey and community impact, bringing together partners, supporters, and friends of the organization.
The gala commenced with a word of prayer and opening remarks from Ms. Angeline Kite, a board member of the foundation. The evening’s MCs were Ms. Namalwa Joselyne Chesoli and Emmanuel Ndalilah. Ms.Namalwa started by sharing a brief overview of the foundation’s work and achievements. This was followed by introductions and entertainment, setting a lively tone for the evening.
Dinner and Networking
Guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner while networking and interacting with each other. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere provided a perfect backdrop for building and strengthening connections among our guests.
Keynote Speeches
Our keynote speakers for the gala were Mr. Dennis Mungo, CEO of Youth Alive Kenya! and Ms. Nerima Wako Executive Director of Siasa Place. – Ms. Nerima Wako emphasized the importance of collaboration for community betterment. Mr. Dennis Mungo encouraged community work and youth empowerment, and appreciated the foundation’s work.

Panel Discussion on Strategic Partnerships for Sustainable Community Development
The evening’s highlight was a panel discussion on strategic partnerships, moderated by Mr. Brian Ogana, also known as Luwi Hausa. The panelists included:
– Mrs. Alice Thome from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development
– Dr. Eveline Mbuchi from Stop TB Partnership Kenya
– Ms. Juliet Aiyeta from the Kenya Red Cross Society
– Mr. Humphrey Oduor from safer Nairobi initiative.
The topic of discussion was strategic partnerships. The panelists discussed how strategic partnerships in various sectors can be used to empower the youth and the broader community. The panelists shared insights on their collaborations with the Faith Norah Lukosi Foundation and how their partnership has gone a long way in creating impact in the community. They also emphasized the role of the government in supporting non-governmental institutions to create a better Kenya. A lively Q&A session followed, allowing attendees to engage directly with the panelists.
Celebrating the Journey
A documentary showcasing the foundation’s journey was then presented, highlighting its achievements over the past two years. Programs Manager Mr. Victor Ndiwa provided a brief overview of the foundation’s impact and future vision.
Keynote Speeches
Several distinguished guests delivered inspiring speeches:
– Senator Hezena Lemaletian commended the director’s vision and made a generous donation to support the foundation’s future programs.
– Hon. John Gitonga Mukunji, MP for Manyatta Constituency, also praised the foundation’s community work and contributed a kind donation.
Co-founder Mr. Donald Okumu then shared the story of the foundation’s beginnings and its progress.
The Executive Director Mrs. Faith Lukosi then gave a heartfelt speech. She recounted the foundation’s origins, her personal journey, and the importance of volunteering and community support.
Closing and Celebrations
The gala concluded with a photo session and cake cutting, marking a successful and memorable evening. Special thanks to all partners, supporters, and volunteers who made the event possible, including the Ministry of Agriculture Youth Unit Team, Youth Alive Kenya, Siasa Place, Youth Enterprise Development Fund Kenya, Kenya Red Cross Society, Drugless Generation Network Kenya, Kenya Young Parliamentarians’ Association, Safer Nairobi Initiative, business leaders, and all friends of the foundation.
