Menstrual Hygiene Day Celebration at St. Anne’s Girls Primary and Junior Secondary School
We are thrilled to announce the success of our recent event commemorating Menstrual Hygiene Day, organized by the Faith Norah Lukosi Foundation in collaboration with several esteemed partners. The event, held on May 28th 2024 at St. Anne’s Girls Primary School, impacted over 400 girls with career mentorship, sexual and reproductive health education, and tuberclosis awareness.
The event began with a ceremonial tree planting led by our Executive Director Faith Norah Lukosi, symbolizing growth and sustainability in our efforts to promote access to education for all and menstrual hygiene and reproductive health rights. With the support of our dedicated partners, including WAMPI Menstrual Hygiene, the Kenya Red Cross Society, and Stop TB Partnership – Kenya, the event was a resounding success.

Through interactive sessions and informative discussions, girls were equipped with essential knowledge and resources to manage their menstrual health with confidence and dignity. They were provided with necessary supplies, including dignity packs and sanitary towels, ensuring they have the means to maintain their hygiene.

Moreover, the event fostered a supportive environment where girls felt empowered to openly discuss taboo topics surrounding menstrual health and break down societal stigmas. Entertainment and refreshments were also provided, ensuring the event was engaging and enjoyable for all attendees.
In addition to menstrual hygiene education, the Stop TB Partnership conducted a session to raise awareness about tuberculosis, empowering the children to become TB champions in their school and the community. Furthermore, the local administration was actively involved, with the area chief Madam Risper delivering a few words of encouragement and support to the girls.
At the Faith Norah Lukosi Foundation, we are committed to promoting reproductive health and overall wellness among children and women in our communities. Events like these serve as important platforms for raising awareness, providing education, and fostering dialogue around crucial issues such as menstrual hygiene.
